ISLE OF WIGHT COUNCIL CORONA VIRUS INFORMATION

HELPLINE for vulnerable islanders without friends and family support 01983 823600 (Mon-Sun 9am-5pm).

BUS PASSES for island residents over 65 are valid before 9.30am to enable access to early supermarket time slots.

RUBBISH COLLECTION ADVICE for those self isolating. Double bag  securely all personal waste items such as tissues, wipes and cloths and keep it away from other waste. Keep the bag inside your property for 72 hours before putting out for collection.

BEWARE OF COVID-19 scams:
Doorstep crime criminals offering to do shopping, doorstep cleansing services that offer to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Online scams email scams offering information about people in the local area who are affected by coronavirus, fake online resources – such as false Coronavirus Maps – that deliver malware.

Refund scams for cancelled trips and holidays.

Counterfeit goods fake sanitisers, face masks and Covid19 swabbing kits sold online and door-to-door.

Telephone scams claiming to be your bank, mortgage lender or utility company.

Donation scams claiming they are collecting donations for a COVID-19 ‘vaccine’.

Loan sharks preying on people’s financial hardship.
