FLOATING BRIDGE LATEST...
ECTC received an email from IWC informing that from tonight (Friday 21st July) the Floating Bridge will cease running from 10.30pm when a passenger only Launch will be in operation. The passenger Launch will operate in the early mornings until 7am when the Bridge will operate as usual (until 10.30pm). This will happen until Cowes Week when the Floating Bridge will operate an extended service (timetable to be decided). After Cowes Week the Bridge will again operate to the curfew timings. This is subject to an engineering visit on 26th July, however the information ECTC has been given is as per above.
AT THE TIME OF WRITING, I HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE AS TO WHETHER THE LAUNCH WILL OPERATE AS TO THE ADVERTISED TIMES OF THE FLOATING BRIDGE; OR HOW SERVICE USERS WILL BE NOTIFIED ALONG THE ROUTE OVER AND ABOVE THE TWO LIT SIGNS CURRENTLY DISPLAYING THE BRIDGE IS IN OPERATION.
AT THE TIME OF WRITING, THE IWC WEBSITE MENTIONS NONE OF THE CHANGES. (15.55)
